Project and out-of-gauge cargo

Project cargo is freight that does not fit a standard container: oversized machinery, heavy pieces, and breakbulk. Yihang plans the lift, the equipment, and the route before anyone promises a sailing. If a flat rack, open top, or breakbulk berth is required, that is what the quote says.

Cargo being secured before loading

Who it is for

  • Machinery and plant that will not go in a closed box
  • Shippers who have been told ‘it will fit’ and then learned it does not
  • Projects with a site date, a drawing, and more than one transport leg

What the file includes

  • A check of dimensions and weight against the equipment
  • Breakbulk, flat rack, or open-top options when a dry box is wrong
  • Port supervision, with photos, when the lift is the risk
  • Inland trucking for the heavy or wide piece on the China side
  • Cargo insurance quoted with the move, not after a damage photo
01

Send the drawing

Length, width, height, weight, and where it can be lifted.

02

Match the equipment

Standard container, open top, flat rack, or breakbulk. The wrong one wastes a week.

03

Watch the load

Photos at the terminal if the piece is awkward enough to argue about later.

Questions shippers ask

What counts as project cargo?

Cargo that is too long, too wide, too tall, or too heavy for a standard dry container, or that needs its own lifting plan. If you are unsure, send the dimensions. We would rather say it fits a 40-foot box than invent a project.

Can you move it from a factory in China?

Yes, if the road can take the piece. The inland survey is part of the quote, not a surprise after the vessel is fixed.

Do you photograph the loading?

When the lift is the risk, yes. Visual supervision is a separate service and can be added to the same file. The point is a record if something shifts.

What does a project quote need?

Dimensions, weight, photos or a drawing, origin, destination, and the date the site can receive it. Without dimensions we cannot tell you the equipment.
